Convoy JW.55B departs Lock Ewe.
Battle of North Cape and the destruction of the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst. HMCS HAIDA was the stern escort for JW55B. HMCS HAIDA came within twelve miles of miles of Scharnhorst’s forward destroyer escort.
